This may seem like one of the last Accept albums you should download but it's quite the contrary. This album, from legends Accept, is completely brushed under the carpet. "The iconic frontman is gone so fuck it" syndrome which a lot of sheep followers of bands contract. There's a list as long as my arm of good albums by big metal bands which got a lot less fanfare simply because they got a new frontman. That maybe isn't just the reason why this never got a lot of attention. It had been 3 years since the last Udo fronted Accept album, and in that time traditional metal had went off the boil. It had been replaced by a more polarising glam and thrash scene which all the rage in rock in 1989.
This album is neither glam nor thrash and resides pretty much smack in the middle of those two. So fans of hair bands would think it's too heavy and thrashers would think it's too lame. However there's some kickass heavy and fast tracks on here but all with a mainstream sheen on the production. The vocals from new guy David Reece are not really glam but are a more conventional rock style. The dude's still got some great pipes and lets out some great shrieks. The quality on offer here is actually almost on par with the Udo albums! Accept had KILLER songs with Udo in the 80's, that isn't in debate. However what is is how killer each album was as a whole. Let's be honest they were all almost half killer and half filler. There were some bad apples on every classic Accept album. However there are fewer bad apples on here than on those classic albums.

Stand out tracks from the album has to be the catchy as hell opener, "XTC". Also "Prisoner", "Hellhammer" and the speed metal closer "D-Train". There are a couple of stinkers, namely "Mistreated" and "Turn The Wheel". However there's far more high quality than clunkers. Again, don't expect a brutal record, this is essentially 80's rock mixed with heavy metal, expect some 80's fluff. However if you're like me, you'll dig the hell out of that stuff. Check out downloads of my recommendations and buy it from Amazon if it's your thing.
