I was doing some album surfing the other day on youtube and after I was done listening to an Anthem album from the 80's it suggested this mp3 album afterwards. I gave the album a whirl as the cover was intriguing and as all metalheads know, we do initially judge an album by it's cover. I listened to the album and thought "Woh this is pretty good traditional heavy metal, it was probably put out in '86 or '87 by some Germans." Well it was put out by an Italians...only 2 years ago! These guys have their classic metal worship down! What struck me first off from the album was obviously the Iron Maiden worship but also the overall NWOBHM influence. The album also reminded me of the traditional heavy metal US band Twisted Tower Dire, but more inspired and creative. You can hear an mp3 album upload of the track "Mirror Of Lies" above.

Most of the music is sweet and hit the spot if you like the aforementioned bands. Highlights include the ode to classic heavy metal "Back To The Glory Days", "Another Fight", their answer to "Rime Of The Ancient Mariner" in the 14 minute epic "...In Conspiracy" and the epic "Mirror Of Lies". A lot of the current retro traditional metal albums sound like tribute quality albums but this is well above average and worth buying if you also enjoy the album as I did. It sounds like the lost Stormwitch album from the mid 80's. In other words top notch Iron Maiden/NWOBHM worship! I'd recommend you get an mp3 album download of a song or two to check it out yourself and if you love it as much as me get yourself over to Amazon to buy it.
